When it gets warmer and you work up a sweat just walking outside, people tend to crave something cold and sweet. What do you think of in general? Ice cream. Sure, a bit of ice cream here and there won’t make you look like a stranded whale during your eagerly anticipated summer vacation, but eating it regularly could cause the phones to ring at the Save the Whales organization when you’re resting at the Sand. To prevent this from happening, I’ve come up with three new and incredibly healthy frozen goodies that you and the whole family (assuming you share) can enjoy without feeling guilty this summer.
1. Enlightened popsicle
If the name rings, you may know them from their back and forth about “the best healthy ice cream” on the market with Halo Top. Enlightened has several healthy frozen goodies starting with their home run product which is their low calorie ice cream with a little added protein to give you the icing on the cake. Now Enlightened has launched another product that expands its list of healthy frozen goodies with the Enlightened Popsicles in a variety of flavors.
When you see the flavors available, you will likely want all of them. And if that’s the case, they sell a low-calorie bar assortment package that includes boxes of five different flavors – Sea Salt Caramel, Mint Chip Swirl, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Vanilla Dark Chocolate Almond, and Cookies & Cream. You can also get free shipping when you order your variety pack.
Your popsicles don’t end here. They also have some other healthy frozen goodies for you to enjoy like their Brownies & Cookie Dough Bars, Cold Brew Coffee Chip Bars, Frozen Hot Cocoa Bars, Fudge Bars, and Toasted Almond Bars. Is your mouth watering already?
All of these healthy, frozen goodies sound amazing from Enlightened. The hardest part is going to be narrowing down what you want. Personally, I would say just buy everyone. Each of these available popsicles range from 70-150 calories per bar and are low in carbohydrates, fat, and sugar while providing more protein compared to their unhealthy counterparts.
2. Halo Top Pops
The champion is here! Everyone greets the king of healthy ice cream! But wait … there is more! * Cue the Infomercial * Seriously, Halo Top is the best-selling pint of ice cream in the US. It is only natural that the brand would want to expand its product portfolio and further displace its competitors in the frozen food section of your local grocery store.
If you thought it was hard to decide which of the enlightened popsicles you wanted, have my beer (or protein shake depending on the time of day) in hand. Halo Top has a wide variety of healthy frozen treats to choose from, from ice cream to pops. In addition to having a standard size popsicle, Halo Top also has mini pops.
The standard size Halo Top Pops have between 90 and 110 calories per pop. All of them have great macros that are similar to those of the Enlightened brand. You can buy the Halo Top Pops in Brownie Batter, Dark Chocolate, Mint Chip, Sea Salt Caramel, and Strawberry Swirl.
Can’t you seem to control yourself? This is where the Halo Top Mini Pops come in. Each of these healthy frozen goodies will only cost you 50-60 calories per mini-pop. You can grab these Halo Top Mini Pops in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Mint Chip, Peanut Swirl, and Strawberry Cheesecake.
Mini Pops contain around 3 g of protein and are low in carbohydrates, fat and sugar. When you scale to the standard size Halo Top Pops, you get about double what can be found in the Mini Pops.
Do you know which flavors you want? Neither do I. I will eat them all. Send in full.
3. reBLEND frozen smoothies
Last but not least, reBLEND Frozen Smoothies are on our list of healthy frozen goodies. This brand has an extremely unique business. You’d think brands would take perfect ingredients with no blemishes or imperfections – not reBLEND. And that’s not negative, on the contrary.
reBLEND works with farmers to dump their imperfect and excess produce, essentially minimizing the waste many farmers can encounter year round. This creates a win-win situation for everyone. The brand states that they re-harvest and reuse the products that would normally be thrown away.
All ingredients in the reBLEND Frozen Smoothies are fresh, nutritious and full of flavor. Unlike the ice creams and popsicles mentioned above, reBLEND is quite unique. All you have to do is take your smoothie, toss it in the freezer for 2-3 hours or until it is completely frozen, pull it out and let it thaw for a minute (it will turn into a sherbet- Consistency), then tear open the smoothie and enjoy. They call it a “freeze and squeeze” product.
The reBLEND Frozen Smoothies contain fruits, vegetables and superfoods in a small package. Below I split the four flavors as I really want to show how unique this product is and what exactly is in it as it is extremely unusual to see this, let alone in the form of healthy frozen goodies.
Frose chill all day: Contains strawberry, raspberry, rose water, cauliflower, banana, beetroot and flaxseed.
Your daily detox: Contains green apple, pineapple, mango, spinach, lemon juice, chia seeds and baobab.
Recovery from tropical bliss: Contains pineapple, peach, mango, cauliflower, coconut water, camu camu and turmeric.
Very berry glow: Contains strawberry, cherry, blueberry, date, spinach, goji berry and rose hip.
You can buy these healthy frozen treats in either a 5-pack or a single-variety pack with a smoothie of any flavor. All of the flavors have around 25 calories, no fat, and are low in carbohydrates and sugar.
I can’t imagine you’re going wrong with the healthy frozen goodies above, but if you do save any I’d love to hear your feedback in the comments.
