When it comes to markets in the supplement industry, there are two key areas I think brands could look to get into if they have the right products and marketing and Obvi has hit both. These two areas are nutritional supplements for women and nutritional supplements for children.
Now I want to anticipate this by saying that I am not in favor of just giving any supplements to your children. Children's nutrition is extremely specific and many brands (on their labels) say that they are not intended for children. With this in mind, a protein powder can be beneficial based on a child's current eating habits.
Other than that, Obvi has been on my radar lately as I have been patiently waiting for how they position their brand and how they would market their products. Given these two things, I have to say that I feel Obvi has made a home run.
It is the Obvi choice for the supplement
If you followed my content, you know that I said brands will start using cereal flavors for their protein, and that's exactly what Obvi did. All of your protein has a certain cereal note, and I think this is a good game and very inviting for those who may not have been interested in buying and consuming supplements in the past.
Muesli is just one of these "comfort" foods for many, since it comes from their youth and childhood and they have good memories of how they used their favorite bowl of muesli for breakfast or even as a snack.
Obvi targets women and children with a high-quality strategy for collagen proteins. Many women tend to be interested in collagen protein because it has many benefits for the skin, hair, nails, and joints. Not to mention the fact that it's a great way for them to get extra protein from their diet, and it's a win-win situation for them.
Many mothers often wonder if they can share their protein with their children. It's been off-limits for some time now, and until recently, supplements weren't really aimed at children – apart from a child-friendly Flintstone multivitamin that we've always seen.
Now parents can feel comfortable knowing that they are helping their child absorb high-quality protein, and mothers can feel relieved that a brand under one roof can resolve not only their child's dietary concerns, but also concerns .
Super collagen protein
Currently, Obvi has released five different versions of its cereal-flavored protein: Fruity Grain, Cinna Grain, Frosted Cereal, Honey & # 39; Os Cereal, and Cocoa Cereal. I let your imagination run wild as to which popular grain brands reflect these flavors.
The protein they use is a hydrolyzed grass-fed bovine multicollagen type I and II protein. Each serving of Obvi Super Collagen Protein contains 40 calories, 10 g protein and 0 g fat, carbohydrates and sugar. Each of the flavors is keto-friendly, gluten-free, and dairy-free, making it a great option for those who may be sensitive to these ingredients or on a specific diet.
On the Obvi website, they recommend using this protein in shakes, smoothies, coffee, baked goods, oatmeal, and cereal. The profile allows you to use this Obvi Super Collagen Protein any time of day when additional protein is needed to meet your daily needs.
Complete protein for children
This is an area I look forward to when Obvi moves in. The Obvi Kid's full protein contains a good amount of protein as well as 18 essential vitamins and minerals. Just like the Super Collagen Protein mentioned above, Obvi chose a grain-flavored protein powder that should interest children. They have launched Obvi Kid's full protein in two flavors – fruity grains and cocoa grains.
Each serving of Obvi Kid’s protein contains 100 calories, 5 g fat, 5 g carbohydrates, 1 g sugar and 10 g protein in the form of whey protein concentrate. While this version had not yet been released at the time of this writing, Obvi states that the taste is amazing and it will be something your kids will enjoy.
Expanding their reach
Obvi has worked since its inception to saturate the US market as much as possible. Recently Ronak Shah (co-founder of Obvi) and his team decided that the time was right to partner with an international distributor (Sportika) to take their products overseas as their exclusive international distributor.
International sales have their own laundry list with headaches and complexities due to regulations and restrictions. By working with Sportika (one of the best in the industry, present in over 140 countries), they can use their brand globally. Richard White (owner and CEO) of Sportika has been building his business book for almost 30 years and works with many of the top brands that we all know and love today.
Following the news that Obvi has partnered with Sportika, more than 39 requests have been received worldwide from people looking to launch the Obvi product line. I think this is just the beginning and together Obvi and Sportika will continue to grow enormously in the years to come.
