John Cena at WWE Summer Slam at Barclays Center 2016
Among other things, John Cena is known for his torn physique, so you would assume that he has the entire diet self-control of a first-class bodybuilder. However, in a recent appearance on the Kelly Clarkson Show, he admitted that one of the side effects of his WWE lifestyle was an unexpected addiction: Tic-Tacs.
First, Cena explained that he and his WWE superstar counterparts are trying to minimize body odor as they step into the square circle. When Clarkson asked him if it was possible to combat body odor in the ring, Cena pointed out that he had never thought of it. Instead, he always made sure to refresh his breath before adjusting the attitudes of his superstar counterparts.
"My thing has always been tic-tacs," he told Clarkson. "It's a nervous superstition that I always have before we go on air, and I had to wean myself from them because I liked up to three boxes a day, and it's exactly in the 20 minutes before the broadcast … it's pretty much 10,000 calories in pure sugar. "
It's unlikely that Cena actually lowered the tic-tac of 10,000 calories, considering that one of them contains about two calories and a one-ounce box contains about 60 tic-tacs. Anyway, that's a lot of candy in a day, let alone in the 20 minutes, before it gets down to business in a WWE match.
